By SecondsOut.com on Doghouse Boxing. According to a report on Foxsports.com former WBA light middleweight Travis Simms was arrested, zapped with a Stun Gun and eventually bailed on Sunday after refusing to leave a disturbance.

  Local police said the former champion and Connecticut city councilor screamed at officers and refused to leave a disturbance, resulting in the Stun Gun being used.

  The 41-year-old Simms, who served two years on the Norwalk city council, was bailed on $1000 bond. He faces charges including breach of the peace.

  Fox reported that Police said Simms was among a group who refused to leave a large disturbance involving the widow of his adopted brother. They say he screamed at them and strongly resisted when they tried to handcuff him.

  Simms had not responded to requests for a comment made on Monday.
