Audley Harrison's Last Stand

By Clive Bernath. Audley Harrison has made a career out of talking a
good fight and delivering absolutely nothing remotely resembling a world
class performance.
Time and time again the former European heavyweight champion has
tried to convince anyone that would listen that he is destined to
exercise his demons and fulfill his ‘destiny’ of becoming the world
heavyweight champion.
Audley, fraudley or whatever you want to call him has one more chance
to convince us he is a winner on Saturday when he challenges fellow
Olympic medalist David Price for the British and Commonwealth titles at
the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
Harrison admitted earlier this week that he has lived a lie in the
past and he starts an overwhelming underdog against Price but the 40
year-old is once again trying to convince us all that he has somehow
reinvented himself into a fearsome fighting machine.
"This is not talk this time. I talk a good fight, I know, but I am
coming to walk through him and separate myself from the pack," Harrison
told Sky Sports. .
"I can understand when people don’t believe me, but I talk like how I see it.
"You can’t live a lie when you’re on that starting line and I have lived a lie in the amateurs and professional game.
"I did just enough to win because I had that talent and chip on my
shoulder to pull it out, but that ignorant guy doesn’t exist anymore.
This is my last chance saloon."
One thing is for sure, On Saturday night one way or the other we
finally get to either witness the promised resurrection of ‘A Force’ or
he packs up his jockstrap and gumshield never to be seen again.
