The Ultimate Guide To Weight Training for Boxing
In upcoming weeks, I will be doing boxing book reviews for Doghouseboxing.com. Topics will include boxing biographies and non boxing ones that have the sport as a central storyline, boxing history, medicine, (at least) one historic fight, and even a true crime book!! It is a pleasure to me to get you the information needed by you in order to obtain these books with confidence, knowing whether they are what you need or not.

The first book reviewed will be The Ultimate Guide To Weight Training for Boxing, Second Edition (ISBN 1-932549-46-3), published in 2006, by Price World Enterprises, all copyrights held by Robert G. Price, CPFT.

While most of the just-above stated is yadda-yadaa-yadda, it is necessary that I inform you of that, because the book makers usually request that we do, and also because it would make it easier for you to find the book, should it become a rarity. Also, because this time I just wanna be nice and tell you about it.

The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Boxing should be a common sight, not a rarity, in boxing corners these days. It explores the myth that weights should not be used in boxing and educates on how to integrate a weightlifting program into your daily boxing workouts.

In that way, it is imperative to own a copy of this book, for parents of young boxers and boxers to-be, for boxers of all ages and for boxing trainers who are looking into new training techniques.

The book has detailed narrative of each of the exercises covered. It leaves no details out. Now, if what you are looking for as a book about anecdotes, fight results and photos, this is not it. But if you are a dedicated sportsperson, or if you care about one in a parental or coaching way, then I highly recommend it. There are instructions on how to exercise both for men and women, and many detailed tables that deal with exercise, days you should do them, repetitions, weight, etc, etc.

This is a well researched book by the people who brought us the “Ultimate Guide” that includes how to use weightlifting in Wrestling, Basketball, Baseball (without Steroids!!), Hockey, Gymnastics, etc.

The book, like all others in the series, is protected by a soft, colorful front and back cover. It will definitely feel good in your hands, unlike some other books. The lettering inside can bore you, but if you are serious about this, it won’t. In fact, it will keep you exercising to your best potential.

Overall, a very good book!.
