Former world middleweight champ James Toney out pointed Kenny Lemos over eight round Friday night after initially being judged the loser at the at the Sky Ute Casino Event Center in Ignacio, Colorado. Toney, 75-8-3-(45) won the majority decision over 291-pound Lemos, 12-8-2-(8), by scores of 77-75, 77-75 and 79-73. however Lemos was first announced as the winner before the decision was corrected and Toney was called back to the ring to be announced as the winner.
On the undercard: Geraldo Quintana and Cris Leyva (2-0) fought a five-round draw; Zamir Young won a four round unanimous decision over Grant John Jazzma Hogue won a five-round unanimous decision over Denver’s Raymond Nichol.
Steve Victor lost a five-round split decision to Carlos Sanchez and Ronnie Reams won a five-round unanimous decision over Suanitu Hogue.
