The Harder They Fall - Gambino Beef on the Klitschko/Haye ballet

“Three Bums”, Frankie Gambino beefed after we watched the Klitschko/Haye ballet. “I’d rather shoot Montepulciano d’Abruzzo at Mare Chiaro on Mulberry Street and dream of Rocky Marciano than eat a blintz in Brighton Beach or a banger in Britain! And that Roy Jones…Frank Merchant mentions Spinks and Holmes — making a case for the little guy fighting like a man against a big guy and Jones brings up hisself and John Louise?”

‘Ruiz,’ I corrected my ghost of a gumbah, and highly aggitated side-kick.

“Whatever” gruffed Frankie,” Ruiz was no Primo Carne Asada!”

‘Primo Carnera,’ I corrected again, not liking his old-school, bigoted tone one little bit!

To loyal readers of Dog House Boxing, I hope you’ll all go to amazon.com and search for Anatomy of an Adult Film, that’s my book—it’s doing well. Anatomy of an Adult Film is a fast-paced read and a sexy romp—I’m sure you’ll love it!
Thanks,

The Hard-boiled murder/mystery novel
Death’s Green Eyes….
I must admit, however, that Roy Jones proved he’s out of his league as a serious boxing pundit—Merchant and Lampley were telling it like it is—Haye, though a shrewd businessman, ain’t no boxer, no puncher, no nothing—and this was a free HBO fight that was to put the squared circle spectacle back on the map!

“That Haye kid went down more than you have in your entire career Sunset,” Frankie ranted on. I begged to disagree…

Frankie was literally ripping sausage from its casing while making his gravy for a little late night macaroni after the fight and still as angry as a slighted Sicilain can be. “Bums, the lot of ‘em!” he scolded.

And I couldn’t disagree—the pre-fight hype was pure Thrilla in Manilla, Rumble in the Jungle, but sadly, it was more like Hamburger Helper in Hamburg.

Anyways, we Vegas fight fans have Mayweather and Ortiz to look forward to and I’ll be ringside again for the Cosmopolitan’s next televised bout—the 12-round IBF Super Lightweight Elimination bout between the Dominican Republic’s once-beaten IBF #3-rated Victor “Mermelada” Cayo (20-1, 18 KOs) and Washington DC’s IBF #4-ranked Lamont Peterson (24-1-1, 14 KOs).
