QUESTIONS: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao
First I would like to thank you for the overwhelming response to my last article. I received a blizzard of e-mails many of which were infected with a virus.

Special thanks to all the Pacman worshipers who took the time to answer all the rhetorical questions. May Pacman always bless you!

Many of the e-mails had something to say about my mother, my dog, my horse, and my family. That’s okay with me because I asked to be crucified by questioning the abilities of a deity – Pacman.

Of the hundreds of e-mails received, over 90% said the Los Angeles Times sucks. The New York Times received a handful of votes as the worse. Several local residents mentioned that the LA Times sports department must be having an emotional love affair with Pacman. I would love to see the pictures.

Many of the readers mentioned that there has never been a negative article about Pacman and never a positive article about the Great One, Floyd Mayweather Jr. I also have never seen anything negative about Pacman….hmmm – does emotional love affair mean what I think it does?

The only demands made by the Great One that I am aware of is -- a bout with Pacman must be on Showtime PPV, handled by Mayweather Promotions, and he would not give Bob Arum a dime.

Where did this mysterious 60/40 split come from? Out of thin air? Do you really think the Great One would give 40% to Pacman and help him out of tax troubles?....Think again.

Pacman needs the money and the Great One does not. Why would Pacman impose a deadline and further infuriate the Great One?… Pac, you need him way more than he needs you.

If the Great One said for Bob Arum to let Pacman be a free agent for this one fight, would Arum step away from all that money? Just the thought of that scenario makes me laugh until I cry. In fact, just the thought of Arum doing anything for anybody but Bob Arum is unthinkable!

Same goes for Oscar, why would he have Canelo fight the same night as the Great One? Once again, Oscar shoots himself in the foot. It really was Richard Schaefer who was the genius behind Golden Boy. Would Bob Arum or the Golden Boy do what’s best for boxing or what’s best for them personally?

Let’s take a look at what’s most likely to happen…Pac fights Amir Khan and gets his butt whipped. It was my hope that Pac would fight Marcos Madiana but he certainly would have trouble with the heavy handed Madiana who would most likely put Pac to sleep similar to the way he stopped fighting in his last fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. The Great One will take away Cotto’s Middleweight belt and look toward a big fight with Amir Khan in September.

I have updated my virus protection and ready for more e-mails.

Thank You!!

David Tyler
