At the Montebello PAL Boxing Gym yesterday, I had the opportunity to observe former welterweight titleholder Antonio Margarito finish off his training camp in preparation for his April 12 bout against current welterweight titlists Kermit Cintron. In an interview conducted afterwards, Margarito offered his insight on the bout as well as a pre-fight prediction.

“I feel very confident for this particular fight with all the work I did,” said Margarito. I never predict a
knockout for any of my opponents but I’m pretty sure this time I can bring a knockout for all my fans.”

Stay tuned to for the rest of the interview coming Monday. Also up for next week in the continuing series “The Welter Report,” an interview with welterweight contender Andre Berto.

Later in the week, I’ll jump weight classes to light heavyweight as I take a look inside the training camp of champion Bernard Hopkins.
