Benny Henderson Jr:
You have the big fight with Canelo Alvarez coming up. Give the readers your
thoughts on that match-up.
Erislandy Lara: This is going to be a great match up between two of the top 154 pounders,
and it's going to be a great fight for the fans. No disrespect to Canelo, but I feel I'm the superior fighter and he will know who is the best he's faced when we step in the ring on July 12th.
Canelo has stated in the press that he is going to make you pay for what he says is that you insulted him as well as Mexican boxing. Your thoughts on his
He can say what he wants, the fact is I had a better amateur career and
I'm come from a better boxing upbringing. He's a good young fighter but he's
still learning on the job.
What do you feel are your keys to victory in this match-up?
To just stick to my game plan and outbox him.
What qualities do you see in Canelo that you feel could pose a threat to you, and what weaknesses do you feel you can capitalize on?
EL: He's going to be a big guy on fight night. Everyone knows he rehydrates to
super-middleweight on fight night. But it's not going to help him in this fight. I will make him pay for his lack of speed.
Any message you would like to send out to Alvarez, as well as the entire boxing world?
Everyone should purchase this PPV because they are going to see me make
history when I come out victorious.
