This past weekend, the tough Texan, Derrick Krantz (17-8) not only won the biggest fight in his career, but the knock out victory over the UFC veteran Brock Larson (44-10) earned D-Rock the Legacy FC Welterweight title.

Hailing from small town Texas, the twenty-seven year old MMA star has fought under the Team 515 banner, and has competed as a professional since 2008. This recent victory is Krantz’s third consecutive win, and he believes this one will open doors to bigger and better things.

In this exclusive interview, D-Rock speaks out on his victory, his future and more, enjoy.

Benny Henderson Jr. Congratulations on your recent victory, give the readers your thoughts on that win.

Derrick Krantz
It was awesome. I think I went in there and handled my business, I believed I could have fought better, but, the outcome came out as I wanted it. There are no complaints from me, Brock Larson was a tough guy, I am just honored to step in and compete with a guy like him.

BH You have fought a few UFC veterans, with Brock being one himself. What do you feel a win over Larson has said bout you and your career?

DK
I myself believe it should open up a more opportunities. Right now we are just a couple of days after a good victory, it really all has not set in. I am just patiently waiting.

BH To have that title, how does it feel to have that around your waist?

DK
It means a lot, it means that all that hard work and dedication that I have been putting in this past couple of years are starting to pay off. One step closer to some of my bigger goals, I am happy with myself and that title. It is mine right now.

BH After you take a few days off and get back in the gym. When would you like to return and is there anybody in particular that you would like to fight next?

DK
I would probably like to return in the next two to three months, I do not enjoy taking ten to twelve months off. I like to fight closer together. Right now I do not know who they want to match me up against, but whoever they want to put in front of me I will be game.

BH The fans, how does it feel to bring that title back to small town East Texas, and not just for yourself, but for your fans?

DK
It is an awesome feeling, I feel totally blessed. Without them, I do not know what I would do Benny.

BH If you could send a message out to the fight world concerning D-Rock, what would you say to the guys in your division?

DK
I do not think I would say anything, I am just going to go out there, show up and fight, and shoe them that I am a top contender. I do not want to use words, I would rather use my actions. Go out there and be a humble person, and take care of business.

BH Anything in closing?

DK
I am feeling really blessed right now, my family, fans, friends and sponsors, they have been really big supporters. They have helped me out a lot, I would not be where I am today if it were not for them, my hats off to them.
