Derrick Krantz
My pleasure, I enjoy it.

BH
You have the fight coming up this weekend against Jorge Patino, a fighter who has been around since the 90‘s, as well as a UFC veteran. Your thoughts on this upcoming fight against a fighter with such accolades.

DK
Well, I see this fight my big fight in my career, it is also a title fight on TV. So, I really cannot get much more exposure than this, up until I reach my ultimate goal, which is the UFC. I am going to dominate, he has been around for a long time, I think he started fighting when I was in elementary school. He is old, I am at my peak right now, I am twenty-five years old, I am going to put him down. I am going to retire his old ass.

BH
He may be a lot older, but, his losses almost add up to your wins. He has forty-three fights total, so, he has a lot of experience. Forgetting about age, all though you have youth on Jorge, do you feel his experience could pose a serious threat?

DK
He has been fighting longer than I have, but as far as how many times I have stepped in the cage, believe it or not, this will be my fiftieth fight, with the amateurs and pros. So, being on that experience level, I know what it is like, I am very comfortable in the ring.

BH
What do you feel a fight over such an opponent will do for your career?

DK
I believe once I go in there, beat his ass and make a statement, everybody, including the UFC is going to take notice. There is no reason why you would not. I am going to show everybody that I contender, and I am coming to be the best in the world.

BH
This past weekend the UFC featured its first lady’s fight, your thoughts on Rousey and the UFC giving the girls a shot.

DK
Hey man, I think it is cool, if a girl wants to get in there and bang it out, there is no reason why they shouldn’t be able to do it. I respect them for it. They are just like me, another fighter, just another gender.

BH
Any message you would like to send out to Jorge Patino before this fight, using Doghouse Boxing as a platform?

DK
Get ready for an ass beating. I feel really confident coming into this fight, I have had a lot of training partners and coaches. I want to thank all of them who have helped me, I want to thank all of my sponsors for helping me out as well, I could not do this without all of them.
