Tommy Morrison states: “The Fight is on!”

Tonight at the Albany Fair Grounds in Laramie, Wyoming, the former WBO heavyweight title holder Tommy “The Duke” Morrison 48-3-1 (42) steps back in the ring as he takes on journeyman Corey Williams 7-9-2 (4) in a card billed as the “Ultimate Explosion”, which can be viewed live at www.gofightlive.tv

“All though there has been a lot of obstacles, and people trying to shut us down at every turn, I am going to be boxing tonight,” states Morrison in an exclusive phone interview conducted by Doghouse Boxing four hours before the bout.

When the fight was announced just a few weeks ago, the Morrison bout was met with great opposition by many in the media as well as the AAPRP, (American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians) who strongly suggested that the proposed fight be postponed.

Morrison, a well known heavyweight in the 90’s who battled the likes of Foreman, Lewis, and Mercer, and starred in the Balboa series, “Rocky V” had his career cut short when testing positive for HIV in 1996.

All though testing positive, Morrison claims he never had the disease, but tested a false positive, and all though hitting a wall of rejection and controversy from a majority of the press, a thirty-eight year old Morrison made his return to the ring in February of 2007 with a second round TKO over John Castle.

With another win under his belt and again, controversy surrounding “The Duke”, the forty year old plans on bringing the pain tonight as he steps in the ring.

So all though the speculation was that the fight would not go through, Morrison reported to the Doghouse, “The fight is on, it is going to happen!”
