Undefeated heavyweight contender Calvin Brock 29-0 (22 KO’s) kept his unblemished record intact with a unanimous decision victory over the previously unbeaten Timur Ibragimov 21-1-1 (13 KO’s) in a twelve round wrestling match at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV which was televised on HBO’s Boxing after dark. The “Boxing Banker” whom stated before the fight that he was going to win and win impressively fell short of his goal on the impressive side of the guarantee, but did do enough to get the nod to move up the heavyweight ladder.

The fight began with Ibragimov firing off jabs at Calvin, beating Brock to the punch, but the shots that were landing for the Uzbekistani had no ill affects on the North Carolina native. The dawdling paced fight had Brock stalking Ibragimov but when getting on the inside Timur had no dilemma with clinching and at times wrestling with Brock.

With the restless crowd booing simultaneously in dire need of some constant action in round four Brock came alive in round five landing a solid right hand but went to work in round six handing out double right hands that had Ibragimov
stunned for a small fraction of the round.
The fight went on slowly with Brock coming out in spurts out landing his opponent whose punch productivity fell short of anything significant, the later rounds turned ugly with Brock on the canvas twice from Ibragimov’s wrestling moves. To finish up the fight Brock landed an unyielding jab but went to showboating in the last seconds in confidence
that he had won the fight. In the end the judges saw the fight in Brock's favor by the scores of 117-111, 119-109 and 115-113 giving Brock his twenty-ninth straight victory.

After the W Brock went on to say that he felt that his opponent was a good fighter and all though the crowd had booed from time to time that his job was to stay consistent and win, if the knock came in the fight then it would come. The thirty one year old contender was asked whom he would like to get in with next and he was quoted, “ We will see.”

Brock who has defeated all in his pathway and has came on strong in doing so, he has the power and goods to hand out L’s to his opposition, and all though solid in his power and skill at times he can be lackadaisical in his efforts. He feels he is the heavyweight to bring the titles together and become the king of the heavyweights; the question in many fight fans minds… is Brock the man to clean up the division? It is answered by Brock himself, “we will see.”
