Last night on the 100th episode of Showtime’s ShoBox: The New Generation, Philadelphia’s very own ‘Fast’ Eddie Chambers outworked and outpointed Calvin Brock in a close twelve round IBF elimination bout, moving one fight closer to the IBF’s kingpin Wladimir Klitschko.

Chambers, who has defeated the likes of Derrick Rossy (TKO 7) and Dominick Guinn (UD 10) utilized his greatest asset, speed, beating the much heavier Brock to the punch.

Brock, the bigger man, came on strong in the early rounds using his weight to push around Chambers, but after a few rounds of close control was met with some effective counter punching from the retreating Chambers, who although was on the recoil was landing solid counter shots tallying up the score.

Both boxers hand their moments during the duration of the bout, but when it was all said and done the much faster and effective puncher Chambers got the nod via split decision giving him the hard earned W, boosting him up in the rankings and a fight with the undefeated Alexander Povetikin.

After the bout, a disheartened Brock confidently stated, “I still think I beat him!”

The victor Chambers, who although won the bout felt he could have stepped it up a notch, said in winning the fight but said he was ready for Povetikin and knew that he had to make changes to his arsenal. “I have to take it to a whole another level.”

Now Chambers, who has proven to be a spoiler and a solid contender, should be taking on Povetiken in the near future, as Brock who has now dropped two bouts will have to rethink
his approach to his career.
