If the first Winky Wright-Shane Mosley fight was any indication of how the rematch might turn out, then the undisputed junior middleweight champion would appear to have no worries when he steps into the ring on November 20th. This Saturday night only on HBO the fans will be at hand to witness if Wright will possess the same tactical onslaught he did last March when Mosley was dominated from the get-go by Wright. The slick southpaw out-boxed, out-witted and out-classed 'Sugar' Shane for twelve rounds to be awarded a much deserved unanimous decision by scores of 117-111, 117-111 and 116-112. These two will meet once again at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada, for Wright’s WBA/WBC junior middleweight titles and the defending champion is more than ready to show the boxing world that he will once again have total control over Mosley. And after disposing of the Sugarman, Wright says will target Felix Trinidad. But for now Wright’s total concentration is on the matter at hand. Will Winky out do Mosley in part two or will Mosley come back and get the W? Stay tuned to HBO on November 20th to get the final results. Doghouse conducted an interview with Winky and got his thoughts on Wright-Mosley II as well as a look at his past and possible future.

Benny Henderson Jr.: How has your training been?

Winky Wright:
Everything has been going good.

BH: In the first bout against Mosley you dominated the whole fight, do you see it just about being the same in this meeting?

WW: I feel I’m going to try to do the same thing in the second meeting and dominate the whole thing.

BH: Do you feel that Shane will try another fight plan than before, and what do you expect from Mosley?

WW: Yeah I expect him to try something different but you know I am prepared for whatever he tries so it isn’t one thing that I am keying on, I am preparing for everything.

BH: Do you feel Mosley changing trainers will make a big difference in this fight?

WW:
No, like I said it might help him for a minute until I find out what they are doing. But I am not too worried about what they are doing, I’m worried about what I am doing.

BH: What do you feel is your best quality as a fighter?

WW:
I’m a smart fighter; I’m a technician, you know what I mean. I got a great defense and you can’t hurt what you can’t hit.

BH: Looking back on your fourteen years as a professional boxer, can you give us some of your high points and low points that are most memorable for yourself?

WW:
Well the high point of course is the Mosley fight, the first time I won the world championship against Bronco McKart and then when I won the other championship, there are a lot of high points. The low points was when I got robbed against Fernando Vargas, when I got robbed overseas.

BH: What motives you as a fighter?

WW:
I just motivate myself in what I do and/or people that don’t give me the respect that I deserve for what I have accomplished in boxing. That makes me mad right there so I train harder and I do what I do so I can get that respect that I deserve.

BH: Mosley claimed in an interview that he was tired and weak in his first bout with you, and the person you fought in the first bout will not be the one in the second. What are your thoughts on Shane in the first bout and any predictions?

WW: The first fight with Shane Mosley, he came and told everybody that he was weak and this and that, this and that. But the day before HBO did interviews, if you seen the interview he told HBO he felt strong as ever and that he felted great and he was going to do this and do that. You can say what you are going to do until you get in front of somebody, you know what I mean. So he can say all that he wants to say, when we get in front of each other then once again ya’ll will see who the better fighter is. You can be hurt or out of shape but he got dominated round one on, he hasn’t done anything that can show you that he can beat me.

BH: Ok, anybody you would like to face after Mosley?

WW:
Oh yes, Felix Trinidad. After we do this with Mosley hopefully we can get Tito in the ring. I think it would be a great fight. I think the fans want to see it, I want to see it and Tito would want it, so let's do it.

BH: Anything you would like to add to this interview or say to the fans?

WW:
Just to all my fans thanks for all your support, all the ones that knew me before the TV finally gave me a chance. The ones that stood behind me and knew Winky Wright’s name and knew that everybody was ducking me, we are here now and we are here to stay.

I would like to thank Fred Sternburg for his help on the interview and I would like to give Winky a big shout out for taking out the time of his training for the fans and the Doghouse.
