Bostice to Battle Povetkin

It was brought to the attention of Doghouse Boxing today from manager Steve Munisteri that the long time boxing veteran David Bostice 36-11-1 (15 KO’s) who is battling Earl Ladson 12-13-1 (7 KO’s) this Friday night at the Little River Casino and Resort in Manistee, MI that if all goes as planned “The Boss” will be traveling to Rostock, Germany March 3rd to battle the 2004 Gold Medallist Alexander Povetkin 10-0 (8 KO’s) to be televised on German television.
This will be David’s second trip to Germany in his eleven year career. In April of 2006 the Californian made the jump across the pond to Stuttgart, Germany where he went ten rounds with heavyweight contender Luan Krasniqi losing out unanimously.
Bostice is a well-traveled veteran who has faced some tough adversaries throughout his time as a professional boxer. Bostice has victories over Ed Mahone, the former IBF Cruiserweight champion Alfred Cole, and he lost a controversial decision to South African Frans Botha while the ESPN commentators felt he won and has faced the likes of Jeremy Williams, Lou Savarese, Calvin Brock and Wladimir Klitschko to top the list of his forty-eight foes that he has faced.
In just ten fights the Russian born heavyweight prospect Alexander Povetkin 10-0 (8 KO’s) has already defeated some creditable opposition. The Super Heavyweight 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist made his debut in June of 2005, but already has racked up wins against Friday Ahunanya (6 R. UD), Ed Mahone (5th R, TKO), and to close out 2006 the twenty-seven year old stopped the thirty-four fight veteran and former IBF Cruiserweight champion Imamu Mayfield 26-8-2 (18 KO’s).
The thirty-four year old boxer recently won a split decision victory over tough veteran Willie Chapman December 1st and squares off against Earl Laden this Friday night. Stay tuned for a full depth interview from Doghouse Boxing on this upcoming bout.
