Klitschko; Four hooks sends Austin flat on his face!

The pre fight dueling of their respected countries national anthems sung between Carrot Top and the pudgy Posh Spice Girl lasted longer than the fight itself, but no matter how you break down the speedy successful showing of the reigning title toting heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko 48-3 (43 KO’s) you cannot deny, the man is on a roll!

In front of a Klitschko crazed crowd packed in the SAP-Arena in Mannheim, Germany that was televised live on HBO, the strong-armed Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko continued his winning ways by making quick work of his mandatory
challenger Ray Austin 24-4-4 (16 KO’s) successfully defending his IBF and IBO heavyweight titles.

Austin, who hasn’t had an L on his record in about six years seemed to be promising coming into this bout, or at least with his whole hearted efforts against Lance Whitaker, Larry Donald and Sultan Ibragimov which all resulted in Draws, one would seem to think he would make it an interesting match-up.

Klitschko came into this bout with five consecutive wins, four ending via knock out, three W’s were over undefeated contenders, one over the former champion Chris Byrd which earned him the IBF strap and IBO strap he totes around today, and the thirty year old had planed on proceeding with his pugilistic parade.

After the pre fight hoopla the two combatants started off slowing with Austin looking to fire off and land at angles, but Klitschko would not have nothing of the sort continuously countering with left jabs with that riveting right hand waiting in the wings. And wait it would. Not once did the champion have to fire off with the right hand that has put to sleep so many of his foe. Klitschko ended the fight and the night in the middle of the second round landing four consecutive horrendous hooks that sent Austin face down on the floor.

Unable to beat the count of the referee, the night ended at 1:27 of round two to give Wladimir his forty-eighth victory, after the bout the victor told HBO that this was not what he expected, “I didn’t expect it to be as easy as it was,” declared Klitschko, “It was easy, Ray Austin was much slower than my sparring partners.”

What’s next for “Dr. Steelhammer”?

Well, the fight world most certainly wants to see unification! As far as that happening, Wladimir has already wanted the mergers, “I didn’t choose this fight,” explaining his bout against Ray Austin, “I am looking to unify the titles and it doesn’t matter which.”

Is unification in the near future? Don’t hold your breath!
