Doghouse Boxing's Guerrero vs. Salidos Predictions
COMPILED By Benny Henderson Jr - A.K.A "Big Dog" (Nov 4, 2006)
Tonight live on HBO Pay Per View 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT at the famed Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV the new found famed WBC welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir 43-9-6 (13) defends his strap against the ‘pound for pound’ fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. 36-0 (24) in a twelve round welterweight clash.

Baldomir has gone undefeated since ’98, but came to the lime light by defeating Zab Judah and dismantling Arturo Gatti just four months back. He will have his hands full when he faces the undefeated Pretty Boy Floyd, who honestly needs no introduction. Is there a major upset in the making or will Mayweather make it thirty-seven consecutive Ws? The writer’s
here at the Doghouse as well as some friends in the fight world give their thoughts on the undercard IBF featherweight match-up Robert Guerrero vs. Orlando Salido.

ROBERT GUERRERO vs. ORLANDO SALIDOS

Dan Horgan: Salido is a tough, scrappy, and talented young fighter, but every positive aspect of his game is exceeded tenfold by those of Guerrero. Guerrero by decision

Martin Wade: I like the Ghost by UD.

Alex Pierpaoli: This might be the surprise thriller bout of the weekend.  Guerrero looks like the winner but Salido is a guy that could make the youngster work very hard down the stretch.  If I had to pick an upset winner out of all the fights this weekend I think Salido is the one.

Jeremy Valdez: A good test to see if Guerrero can get to the next level.  Salido's record is not impressive but he's been in there with good competition including Juan Manuel Marquez.  Salido will be tough but Guerrero should handle him and stop him. Guerrero KO8.

Vikram Birring: Salido is not a serious contender and has lost most of his big fights; Guerrero is a young, powerful puncher on the rise. This equals total destruction and carnage. Robert Guerrero defeats Orlando Salido, 5th round TKO.

Benny Henderson Jr.: I really don’t know much on Salido to make an educated guess, but I know Robert and I have to go with my boy. Guerrero 9th round TKO

Anthony Cocks: Salido is tough, but Guerrero is the future. If Salido goes into survival mode he has a chance to last the distance, but my guess is that The Ghost will use his superior height, reach and firepower to force inescapable exchanges. Guerrero by TKO, let’s called it the 9th.

FIGHTER’S PREDICTIONS

David Rodriguez: Guerrero wins by knock out.

Kelsey Jeffries: Guerrero TKO.

Oisin Fagan: Guerrero to beat Salido on points. Guerrero is slick and I think he'll bring too much to the table, but I can't see him knocking our Salido.

Jose Antonio Rivera: Guerrero-Salido – Guerrero all the way in this one.
