Berto Beats Forbes by Unanimous Decision

In the co-feature, Andre Berto took on Golden Boy sacrificial lamb Steve Forbes of Contender fame in a scheduled 12 round affair for the WBC version of the welterwight title on a beautiful Saturday night in Carson.

Fighting in the pocket, Berto dominated the first 2 rounds, coming out stunning the technical yet out of his weight class, 2 Pounds. Forbes was cut in the 2nd in an accidental headbutt, yet fought back valiantly countering the heavy fisted Berto in the 3rd.

This action packed fight continued its hectic pace into the 4th, as Berto continued throwing bombs with both hands with bad intentions. As the fight wore on, Berto realized that the never been knocked off his feet Forbes was a tough customer.

It was great test for Berto, and as he went into the 7th he began to realize that little 2 Pounds wasn’t going anywhere. Berto hit Forbes with a shot that not only knocked the dig shit out of him, it sent his mouth piece flying nearly into press row. Forbes, ever resilient, fought on.

The hand speed display continued into the 10th, as Berto continued to dominate yet seemed to succumb to the fact that he was not going to be able to do what Oscar could not do in stopping Forbes.

In the end, the Floridian was simply too fast and too talented for the veteran. After 12 rounds, Berto won by scores of
