Boxing Notes on Pacquiao, De La Hoya, David Haye and Juan Diaz vs Juan Manuel Marquez

When I’d heard how low the two main event fighters (Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya) came in at during last Friday's weigh in, I questioned the accuracy of the scale. Turns out there was talk of Manny weighing between two and four pounds more on the scale in his room. I found that tidbit to be quite interesting, if not purely speculative.

There was talk of a potential matchup between Juan Diaz and Juan Manuel Marquez in March. I expect to be

hearing more about that in the coming weeks.

Ran into David Haye a bit later in the evening and I found him to be a lot more cordial than I expected from his post fight interviews. He seemed to be a very genuine guy, who is genuinely sincere about wanting to face anyone and everyone in the heavyweight division. I hope he does well.
