Frans Botha: "They can't get away with this"

After nine rounds, rugby star-turned fighter Sonny Bill Williams had built up an insurmountable lead against former heavyweight contender, Frans Botha.
Botha, 44, needed a knockout to win. In the ninth round he stunned Williams with some well placed right hands. The hometown hero was unraveling.
Williams looked glassy-eyed. How would he be able to last three more rounds with the suddenly motivated Botha?
That's easy, shorten the fight!
The bout had been announced as a 12-round affair, but as fast as it takes to say,"G'day mate," it became a 10 rounder. The announcers were shocked. The sold-out crowd at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Queensland, Australia was buzzing.
Botha lurched after Williams in round 10. He bounced some more right hands off his chin. Williams was nearly out on his feet. He bearhugged Botha and counted down the remaining seconds.
The judges all saw the fight in the favor of Williams. Botha was incredulous.
“At the press conference it was 12 rounds, in the programs … you cannot change it," Botha said. "If it had gone 12 rounds I would have killed him…I got screwed. He was out on his feet. All I had to do was push him away and he would have fallen….everyone wants him to win, his management wants him to win, but how can you go bend the rules?
"It’s unheard of. They can’t get away with it,” added Botha calling on the WBA to order an immediate rematch as the bout was for the WBA International heavyweight title."
