Frank Buglioni (15-1, 11 KOs) won a workmanlike 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Andrew Robinson (13-1-4 KOs) at the ExCel Arena in London, England.
The scores were 97-92 (twice) and 97-93 for Buglioni.
Working with former world champion Steve Collins for the second time, Buglioni was tagged with far to many right hooks.
It’s a flaw he needs to fix.
Buglioni wrapped up the bout by decking Robinson in round seven with a beautiful left hook. He was able outwork his smaller opponent in most of the other heats, but Robinson, the big underdog, connected with some sharp blows in the last few rounds.
Robinson drew a loud round of applause for his gutsy showing.
Bugiloni was happy with his performance.
“Absoultley fantastic fight,” said the always gracious Bugilni after the fight. “That’s why I’m in the game. All the respect for Andrew Robinson.”
With the victory, Buglioni regained the WBO European title.
