Chazz Witherspoon lands punch on Domonic Jenkins
By John J. Raspanti, Doghouse Boxing: Doghouse boxing has exclusively learned that Chazz "The Gentlemen" Witherspoon has tabbed Trainer of the Year Virgil Hunter to prepare him for his upcoming 10-round rumble with Seth "Mayham" Mitchell April 28 in Atlantic City . The bout is the co-main event of the Bernard Hopkins vs. Chad Dawson rematch.

Mitchell, 29, exploded on the heavyweight scene with a second round destruction of Timur Ibragimov last December. Witherspoon has won his last four fights all by knockout. Trainer Hunter, renowned for his work with undefeated champion Andre Ward, likes what he sees in the 30 year-old Witherspoon.

"Chazz has a tremendous upside,” said Hunter. "I'm excited to work with him," he added.

Hunter has been impressed with the 6-foot-4, 234-pound fighters mobility and intelligence.

"He's very athletic and picks things up fast,” said Hunter.

Mitchell will bring his considerable power into the ring April 28. The six-foot-two, 240-pound banger has been compared to Mike Tyson.

Hunter who has watched Mitchell on tape, is impressed with what he has seen.

"Seth is a good fighter," he said. "But I think were going to be extremely competitive on April 28."
