WBC lightweight
Antonio DeMarco (28-2, 20 KOs) defended his title successfully by
stopping challenger John Molina Jr. (24-2, 18 KOs) at the 44-second mark of
the first round. DeMarco landed a long left hand that staggered Molina.
The Covina, Ca. native stumbled to the neutral corner. DeMarco pounced
on his advantage, raining punches down on Molina until referee Jack
Reiss waved off the contest.
DeMarco was thrilled with his sudden victory.
“ Yes, Molina is a strong man. I caught him.”
"He got a caught and buzzed," said Molina's trainer.
