Ward, the WBA, WBC, and The Ring super middleweight champion, injured
his shoulder in training forcing the postponement of his Jan. 26 defense
against former middleweight beltholder Kelly Pavlik, Sports Illustrated
reported late Wednesday night.
Ward, (26-0, 14 KOs ) is coming off the most impressive victory of his career, a 10th round TKO of light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
Pavlik,
(40-2, 34 KOs) was to fight Ward at the Galen Center in Los Angeles ,
California . The 30-year-old challenger has won his last four fights. He
was to leave for Oxnard (site of his training camp) this week.
ESPN recently ranked Ward, 28, the No. 2 best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
