In a recent interview with Oscar De La Hoya, conducted by www.insidesports.ph, De La Hoya discussed the possibility of a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Amongst some of the hurdles in making this fight happen for December 6th is the fact that De La Hoya wants his promotional company in charge of the Promotion of the fight. De La Hoya truly feels only he can make sure the fight gets the attention it needs.

De La Hoya also discussed why he is considering a fight with Pacquiao. Using Bernard Hopkins in his reasoning for taking the fight, De La Hoya stated: "I remember when Bernard Hopkins was challenging me and at that time, I was a welterweight and he was fighting as a light heavyweight and he called me out." De La Hoya went on to add: "As a fighter, I felt I had to challenge him so I did. Now, Manny Pacquiao is challenging me and I am definitely considering it.”

De La Hoya feels Pacquiao is a challenge and feels a fight would help put Pacquiao in the history books forever. De La Hoya stated: “I see it as a challenge and I think that if Manny Pacquiao wants to consider himself a legend, I think by having a fight with me, it will put him in the history books forever.”
