The most talked about fight of the year is Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao. If the fight does come off, it will be De La Hoya's final fight. Reports are swirling over the last few weeks that a deal for a December 6th match is close.

Freddie Roach who is the trainer for Pacquiao is confident that his fighter can defeat De La Hoya. However, it would seem that he is not so certain his fighter could defeat De La Hoya if De La Hoya was in his Prime.

Roach knows De La Hoya isn't the fighter he use to be, recently quoted on ESPN, saying: "De La Hoya isn't what he used to be, that's for sure." However Roach went on to state that he wouldn't pit Pacquiao against a prime De La Hoya. "If Oscar was in his prime, I wouldn't have taken this fight," stated Roach.
