Fraim B&G Club in Wilmington, DE
Dave Ruff put together another fine show at the Fraim B&G Club in Wilmington, DE, recently. The show was topped by one of his former boxers Travis Richardson and the debut of Eve Lane of Philadelphia, formerly out of TX and ARK. It was a spirited 3 round exhibition with James “Big Cat” Gibbs being the third man in the ring. Another former boxer of Ruff’s Greg Hackett worked the corner of Lane’s.

Gibbs has been a big time supporter of kids boxing in DE and Chester, PA, for years and Hackett runs a boxing gym in Chester, and is always there when needed by Gibbs and Ruff. The show was well attended and had a fine undercard. Ruff in the past has brought in such boxing people as former heavyweight champion “Smokin” Joe Frazier, former IBF bantamweight champion “Joltin” Jeff Chandler, current unbeaten boxers heavyweight Amir “Hardcore” Mansour, uneaten super middleweight Derek Webster, top referees Steve “Double SS” Smoger and Benjy Esteves, Jr. In addition, main event boxer Eve Lane and trophy presenter Catherine Lebron together gave a talk.

Ruff is expected to run another show in May at the club. Ruff works every Monday and is producing some fine young kids the way he once did with the professional boxers he managed/trained such as Hackett. Fellow boxer and friend of Lane’s Catherine Lebron in charge of handing out trophies and medals to the boxers. She is from Trenton, NJ.

Michael Lumpkin filmed the entire program which may be available to the public and has done so in the past. He is one of DE’s finest photographers and is available for filming of such sporting events. He is currently filming the PA Golden Gloves.

Ruff’s assistant Corey Wallace was the main sparring partner for the younger boxers. He worked with James Glick, Orlando Rider and Marquise Clemenent. Overseeing the program were Executive Director Rachel Kane and Candice “Time Bomb” Estrada.
