Philadelphia’s Teon Kennedy, 18-2 (7), is rarely in a bad fight and is stepping up to the super featherweight division for the first time in meeting Dominican Jose Collado, 13-2 (3), of Jamaica, Queens, NY, who is stepping into his for 10 rounder. It’s expected to be a good main event at Bally’s Event Center in Atlantic City, NJ, Saturday night as promoter Peltz Bxing has an additional 7 bouts on the card. For Kennedy he is out to prove he still has what it takes. He seemed more natural at 126 but had been campaigning at 122 before losing in a world title fight in 2012. He came back in June of this year and defeated upset minded Carlos Vinan. He is 5-1-1 in AC rings while his opponent Collado is 4-0 in Philly rings and making his AC debut.
The 8 round semi bout has two young light middleweights with similar records as Decarlo “tremendo” Perez, 10-2-1 (4), of Atlantic City, NJ, putting his 4 fight win streak on the line when he meets Jamar Freeman, 9-1-2 (5), of Wilson, NC, coming off his first defeat. In a pair of 6’s Ismael Garcia, 5-0 (2), of Vineland, NJ, meets Michael Sunkett, 1-2 (1), of Louisville, KY, in a light middleweight match. Jose Javier Calderon, 4-2 (4), of PR, meets fellow PR Rafael Montalvo, 2-4 (2), now out of St. Clair, PA., at welterweight.
In all 4 rounder’s former amateur star Mark Rideout, 3-0 (0), of Philly, takes on TBA at heavyweight. Philly’s Anthony Burgin, 4-0 (1), another Philly outstanding amateur takes on Jose Del Valle, 1-2 of PR, at super featherweight.
