Peltz Boxing brings back Omar Shieka, 30-10 (21), of Paterson, NJ, and Garrett “The Ultimate Warrior” Wilson, 9-5-1 (4), of Philadelphia, for the vacant USBA Cruiserweight title at the Palladium Ballroom in Caesars, Atlantic City, NJ, Saturday night!   They met in March of 2010 in Hamilton Twp., NJ, with Shieka coming back to stop Wilson.

“I’m glad to be back in the ring.  Atlantic City is like my hometown.   I would like to pick up where Arturo Gatti left off.   This fight is at 185 and I’m taking it but will drop back to 175 after this.  I believe he will be coming in just as tough as he was the first time and has time to drop down in weight from where he has been fighting,” said Shieka.  This writer reminded Shieka he was 10-0 in NJ of which 3 of those wins were in AC.  “Don’t jinx me,” said Shieka.

Wilson had Shieka rocked early but didn’t follow-up.  He’s been 2-1-1 since their last fight.  In his last 2 fights he stopped Aaron Williams 20-2-1, in 7 and was held to a disputed draw by Andres Taylor, 16-1-1.

“I’ve been asking for this rematch since the last fight.  I won’t be making the same mistakes I did last time.  I plan to end his career.  This fight means a lot to me in getting this belt and the revenge from getting the TKO on my record.  I’ve been sparring with Steve Cunningham (IBF Champ), Yusaf Mack, Dhafir Smith and Rasheem Brown at Shulers Gym,” said Wilson.

Shieka on the other hand has fought for 4 world titles.  His last fight was in October of 2010 losing in 10 to top rated Adrian Diaconu, in Montreal.  He had posted 3 straight stoppage wins prior to that after losing to former world champion Roy Jones, Jr.

A Semi-8 light welterweight bout will pit a pair of Pennsylvania neighbors of a sort against each other.  Unbeaten Ronald Cruz, 11-0 (8), of Bethlehem looks to extend his streak against Manuel Guzman, 7-10-2 (3), of Lancaster.

Guzman has defeated Tommy Rainone, then 11-0, in June of 2008. He has never been stopped and last fought in December losing over 8 rounds to Olympian Sadam Ali, in Newark.   His recent biggest win was knocking out Philly’s Ardrick Butler, then 5-1, last July.

Cruz last fought in February and is 5-0 in Atlantic City. He has scored knockouts in his last 4 fights.  His last 3 were considered mild upsets stopping Juan Ramon Cruz, 16-8-1, Jeremy “Bryan, 14-1 and Dillet Frederick, 7-3-3. He also has a knockout win over Norman Allen, 6-1.

In a 6 round heavyweight match a pair of Philadelphians in Bryant Jennings, 6-0 (3) and David Williams, 6-3-1 (2), will slug it out.  Jennings went 6 rounds in his last match in AC in February.  Williams has beaten Michael Carr, 10-0-2 and Adam Harris, 10-0.

Derrick Webster, 6-0 (4), of Glassboro, takes on Philadelphia’s Jose Medina, 15-20 (11) in a 4 round super middleweight match.  There will be 3 other matches on the card starting at 7:30pm.
