Unbeaten Isaac Suarez takes on Ikem Orji at Arena in South Philly!
By Ken Hissner, DoghouseBoxing (May 8, 2009)
Power Productions will feature a 6 round battle of super featherweight prospects along with 7 other bouts at the South Philly Arena tonight. Suarez, 6-0 (3), from Lancaster, is a former amateur standout who is returning to the ring after a 2 year absence. His opponent Orji, 5-1 (1), is a Nigerian out of Laurel, Maryland, whose only loss was a close decision to Philly’s unbeaten Anthony Flores in February at Newark, New Jersey. It will be just a little over 2 weeks since his last bout when returning to the win column when he meets Suarez.

Philly’s Khalil Farah will be in a return match with Gonzalez Jones, of Akron, Ohio, whom he won a split decision over in March at the Arena. This is expected to be just as good with Jones feeling he needs a knockout to win.

USA top amateur Jackie Davis, 1-0 (1), will meet South Carolina’s Rachel Clark, 2-1-1 (2), in a light middleweight match. Davis is a crowd pleaser who brings out the fans.

Derrick Webster, Chase Corbin, Marcus Smith and Brendan Barrett will be making their pro debuts on the undercard. Doors open at 6:30pm and fights at 7:30pm. Location is 7 W. Ritner Street, Philadelphia, off Oregon Avenue by Forman Mills.
