Yes, it’s every boxing writer’s
nightmare two shows in your area on the same night. It’s becomes
tough when both promoters expect you at their show and both are well
worth going to.
At Bally’s in Atlantic City, NJ,
Peltz Boxing will headline with Patrick Majewski, 18-1 (12), from
Atlantic City, against Chris “the Irish Ghost” Fitzpatrick, 15-1
(6), out of Cleveland, OH, in a 10 round middleweight match-up. This
should be an explosive headliner. Majewski is always in a good fight
and hasn’t fought at home in over 2 years so the fans will be
looking for his return.
There will be 7 other bouts on the
undercard with 4 bouts scheduled at 6 rounds featuring Philly’s
light welter Naim Nelson, 6-0 (1) against Puerto Rico’s Esteban
Rodriguez, 5-1-1 (1); DE cruiser Dan Biddle, 8-2 (5), against
Philly’s Pedro Martinez, 6-5 (3), while Atlantic City’s Osnel
Charles, 9-3 (1), takes on lightweight Raphael Luna, 4-5-1 (1), of
Albany, NY, and Atlantic City’s Lavarn Harvell, 11-0 (6), in a
light heavy match-up with Nigeria’s Mojeed Okedara, 9-5 (8).
In addition 3 bouts scheduled for 4
rounds features Olympic alternate Jesse Hart, 1-0 (1), from Philly
taking on Steven Chadwick, 0-3, of Jacksonville, FL, former PA GG
champ Mark Rideout, debuting in a heavyweight match with Randy
Easton, 0-0-1, from Williamsport, PA, and a pair of debuter’s in
Cherry Hill, NJ, welter Anthony Prescott against DeAndre Phillips
from Philly. First bout at 7:30pm and J Russell Peltz always starts
on time. Brittany Rogers will assist Peltz in the matchmaking.
At the PA Convention Center in
Philadelphia, PA, Percy Custis (Shulers Gym) runs with Yusaf “Mack
Attack” Mack, 30-4-2 (17), of Philly on top in a light heavyweight
8 against Sabou Ballogou, 8-5-3 (3), of Togo, out of FR, who had
unbeaten Derrick Webster on the canvas recently this year and is a
welcome return to the area. At this time there are a total of 12
bouts scheduled with several amateur bouts being presented. Custis
figures around 8 professional bouts at fight time.
There will be 2 bouts scheduled for 6
rounds with Philly’s featherweight Eric “Outlaw” Hunter, 15-2
(8), against tough Jason Rorie, 6-15-2 (3), and Philly’s Dhafir “No
Fear” Smith, 26-22-7 (4), against Bobby Jordan, 8-3-1 (4), of
Norfolk, VA. In 4 round bouts there will be an interesting pair in
Wahid Raheem, 3-0 (1), of Philly against Isaac Suarez, 7-1 (3), of
Lancaster, PA, in a lightweight match, Tyrone “Butterfly”
Crawley, Jr., 2-0 (0), Tim Witherspoon, Jr., 6-2-1 (2), an all Philly
welter match with Saud Clark, 1-0 (1) against Kareem McFarland, 1-0
(1) featuring 2 top prospects, Orlando Lewis, 4-2 (4), Alex Barbosa,
3-0 (1), Corey Morley, Greg Jackson and Terrelle James also listed
and subject to change.
