Joey Eye Boxing and David Feldman bring
“Round Four” just outside of Philadelphia, in Chester, PA, Friday
night! The return of one of the most popular warriors in
Philadelphia is Victor Vasquez, 13-5-1 (7), “The Boxing Barber”
against Angel “The White Tiger” Rios, 9-5 (6), of Puerto Rico,
out of the Bronx, NY, over 8 rounds in the lightweight division.
Rios has been in with future champion Nate Campbell, the UK’s Carl
Johanneson and for the WBC Youth Super Featherweight Title Mike
Anchondo. All 3 fights went the distance and all 3 opponents were
unbeaten at the time.
“I am in shape and know little about
my opponent. My trainer Billy Briscoe has me well prepared no matter
whom I’m fighting,” said Vasquez. This will be his third
appearance at Harrah’s. He’s become the “house fighter” and
has shown much improvement defensively with his new trainer.
In the co-feature Tony “Boom Boom”
Ferrante, 11-3 (6), of Philadelphia will meet slick boxer William
Prieto, 5-5-1 (2), of Lorain, OH, in a light heavyweight 6 rounder.
Ferrante is coming off back to back stoppages in June and July.
Prieto is looking to score the upset like he did in Reading, PA,
stopping Jeremy Stauffer, 6-1-1, in the first round and Jesse Blount,
2-0, by decision in 4 at the Blue Horizon. This writer saw him well
ahead when he was stopped by an injury against Isaac Rodriguez, 9-0,
in Dickson City, PA, and drew with Wayne Cooper, 8-2-1, for the WBF
All-America’s title in DC over 8 rounds. Of his 11 opponents, 7
were undefeated at the time.
In his first 6 round bout local
favorite Angel Ocasio, 5-0 (1), of Philadelphia, makes his third
appearance at Harrah’s against his most experienced opponent Rasool
Shakoor, 3-8-1 (1), of Jackson, MI, in a lightweight match-up.
“Angel has joined a new strength and conditioning program at 7
Duce’s in Marlton, NJ, and is in the best shape of his career,”
said Kurt Wolfheimer (Publicist). Shakoor defeated Kieyon Bussey,
6-0, in Pittsburgh last year and is looking to pull another upset.
In a pair of four rounder’s are the
two Joey’s who in heavyweight Joey “Polish Thunder” Dawejko,
4-0 (1), of Philadelphia, will be taking on Keon Graham, 2-6 (0), of
Akron, OH. In his last appearance Dawejko fought in January at
Harrah’s defeating Taffo Asongwed. In Graham’s 8 fights all but
one opponent was unbeaten at the time.

Newark, DE, returns to Harrah’s for his fourth appearance taking on
an opponent to be named.
