War of the Roses - Floyd Mayweather Jr and Father come to better Terms of Endearment By Kyle Lucas (July 18, 2009) DoghouseBoxing
As Floyd Mayweather Jr prepares himself for Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19, one thing that particularly pleases me is to hear that Floyd Jr. and his father, Floyd Sr. are working on mending their family relationship. Personally I like and respect Floyd Jr. the boxer and certainly also like and admire Floyd Sr. the trainer. What I did not like about the two, is there relationship with one another.
For years now, both son and father have had a strained relationship... but it finally looks as if both are working to remedy the situation.
In a release sent to us here at DoghouseBoxing, Mayweather Jr. spoke on how he and his father are getting closer to one another, thanks in part to his father coming around more often and being part of the Family. Mayweather Jr. stated: "My dad is coming around now. He is teaching his oldest grandson how to box. So that's a good thing. He's coming to the birthday parties of his granddaughters." Mayweather Jr. added: "He's spending more time with his grandkids, getting to know his grandkids, and that's the main thing that counts."
Mayweather Jr. realizes that his kids are the future for the whole family and feels by the whole family sticking together (including his father) the family will only get stronger, and not weaker.
In this world, there is nothing better than the love of your family. I wish all the Mayweather's only the best and I hope they can get Boxing's favorite family back together in each others lives again.
