Oscar De La Hoya on who is Better: Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr? By Kyle Lucas (July 18, 2009) DoghouseBoxing
One person who has faced both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside the ring is Oscar De La Hoya. De La Hoya who is busy with promoting September 19th's fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr., recently spoke on why they named Mayweather Jr vs Marquez card, "Numero Uno/Number One".
De La Hoya who has faced both Mayweather Jr and Pacquiao feels that Mayweather Jr. is the better of the two fighters. Because Mayweather Jr is better than Pacquiao, they named the fight "Numero Uno/Number One".
In a recent statement sent to us here at Doghouse Boxing, De La Hoya stated: "I felt more skill coming out of Mayweather than I did with (Manny) Pacquiao. That's the reason why we named the fight Numero Uno/Number One - because they are fighting to see who the number one fighter is on the planet."
Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel Marquez: "Number One/Numero Uno," the 12-round bout will take place Saturday, September 19 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV and will be produced and distributed live on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9pm ET/6pm PT..
