Ricky Hatton diagnosed with Heart problem - Doctors Warn Hatton!

According to a report out by Nick Owens and Simon Wright for the Mirror UK. Doctors are warning Ricky Hatton that his health could be at risk after finding the former champion had an irregular heartbeat. The irregular heartbeat was found when Hatton was in the hospital last week with a stomach ailment.

According to the report published in Mirror, Hatton who has a Heart murmur has been urged by Doctors to improve his diet and stop drinking booze. Doctors want Hatton to drop his bad habit of a "binge-and-bust" life or he could risk an early finish to his career.

Hatton had undergone tests on his Heart last week after doctors had noticed that he had an irregular heartbeat. According to the Mirror's report, Hatton will be having further tests and Doctors have advised Hatton to rest for a month.

A source close to Hatton is quoted in the Mirror as saying: “Ricky thinks it’s all a storm in a teacup, feels fit as a fiddle and wants to carry on training and fighting.”

In Hatton's biography entitled: "The Hitman: My Story", Hatton openly talks about his heart murmur and states he has had every test possible and was given the all clear.

My opinions... For most people who have heart murmurs / irregular heart beats, its not a serious thing. Humans as well as animals live long healthy lives even when diagnosed with such a heart condition from birth. So I would not rush in with any conclusions and certainly would not say Hatton's health is under serious threat. Sure, there is a threat with anyone who drinks and binge eats... and anyone would benifit from a lifestyle change... but a heart murmur is not a serious health issue or threat for most... and considering how awesome Hatton has performed in the ring with his heart murmur in the past... his health is not under serious threat.
