Vernon Forrest killed - Details of the Murder

Some more terrible news for Boxing. Another great and amazing boxer has lost his life. It brings me nothing but heartbreak to report that Vernon Forrest has been shot and killed.

Here is what is known so far. On Sunday Police stated that Vernon Forrest was shot and killed during an apparent robbery in Atlanta. Lisa Keyes who is an Atlanta Police Sgt. has released that on Saturday night, Vernon was shot "multiple times in the back". At this time there are no suspects.

An investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office (Mark Guilbeau), has told the media that an autopsy is planned for today.

This has been a brutal month for Boxing. We have now lost 3 of the most incredible, truly great boxers. Alexis Arguello passed away on July 1st. Arturo Gatti was found dead on July 11th, and now Vernon Forrest.

July has been the Month of Tears!
