Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto: The Big Prediction!
By Kyle Lucas (Aug 23, 2009) DoghouseBoxing
Ok I am ready to give you my prediction on Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto. This super fight is slated for November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Yes my friends, this is a "can't miss" fight! You get two of the toughest and certainly skillful fighters squaring off against one another. What more could you ask for!? It doesn't get much better than this. So what's my prediction?

Here is my quick run down... Cotto is in trouble. It's going to be a helish fight and I see Cotto getting knocked down but not out early in the fight. I expect Pacquiao with his rapid fire and Robin Hood accuracy to nail Cotto off balance. Everyone gets rattled the first time they taste Pacquiao's power and I expect as rugged and tough as Cotto is, he will be no different.

Pacquiao has the legendary Freddie Roach in his corner, and a recent departure with Cotto splitting from his Uncle and trainer, Evangelista (who played a significant role in Cotto's camp)... I can't help but to wonder if the timing for Cotto couldn't come at a worse time in his career? Cotto and his uncle spilt back in April of this year. Evangelista was replaced by Joe Santiago. I can't tell you how well the two will pair (Cotto and Santiago), but I can tell you that Roach and Pacquiao are the best well oiled machine in the business.

Can Pacquiao lose this fight? Of course he can... it's Boxing! Cotto is not an easy challenge for anyone, and I certainly don't think Pacquiao will have an easy night the way he did against Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton, but if Pacquiao doesn't stop Cotto in the late rounds, then I fully expect him to win on the scorecards.

Pacquiao has a lot to prove because many critics are refusing to giving him proper credit for his dismantling of De La Hoya and Hatton. Cotto who suffered a questionable loss to Antonio Margarito also has something to prove to the critics. So I expect this to be a barn burner.

Final Prediction: In the end though my prediction is that I wouldn't be surprised if Pacquiao won by a late round KO, but most likely he will win a well deserved unanimous points victory.
