Duva Thankful for Sho-Box Success
Media Report (August 9, 2004)
Promoter Dino Duva wishes to thank everyone involved with making Thursday’s Duva Boxing debut “Sho-Box – The Next Generation” broadcast a rousing success. “Hard Knocks at the Hard Rock,” at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, was co-promoted by Warrior’s Boxing and featured power-punching future heavyweight star Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter in the main event and all-action welterweight prospect Juan Urango in the co-feature.

“Samuel Peter passed the toughest test of his career with flying colors by pitching a virtual shutout,” said Duva of his fighter’s unanimous 10-round decision victory. “I am very pleased he proved so dominant against a very good and very tough Jovo Pudar. He’s only 23 years old and is still learning, but we expect him to be ready for any heavyweight in the world in the near future."

Duva also says he’s overjoyed with the action provided by Colombia’s Urango and opponent Michael Arnaoutis – a 12-round war that ended in a draw. “That was one of the best fights of the year and I'm happy for both fighters, who made such a memorable impact on US Television viewers.”

“In all,” he continued, “it was a great night, Showtime said it was one of the best Sho-Box instalments they’ve ever had and Duva Boxing is very proud to have been part of it. We’re happy to have worked with Showtime, Warrior’s Boxing and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. They were all class acts and we’d like to do more business with each of them in the future.”

With the victory, Samuel Peter moved his impressive record to 20-0 (17 KO). Jovo Pudar fell to 22-3 (12 KO). Juan Urango is now 13-0-1 (10 KO); Mike Arnaoutis is 10-0-2 (4 KO).
