Razor Ruddock's Invention Smashes Garbage
INTERVIEW By Sean Newman (Jan 3, 2007)
Famed boxer Razor Ruddock virtually disappeared after fighting Mike Tyson and knocking out Marcus Egerton to win the Canadian Heavyweight championship. Now Ruddock is back, and he wants to crush your garbage. Ruddock has personally invented a device that is set to explode in the market – an affordable, non-electrical garbage compacter called The Boxer suitable for any home or office.

Most people, particularly Torontonians, have out-of-control garbage. Ruddock’s Boxer Garbage Compacter will allow
most people to take a single bag of garbage to the curb instead of many. The Boxer will also save money for businesses who spend thousands on expensive official city garbage bags. The Boxer also means you may never have to look at mountains of leaking garbage bags and the hazards they entail. As well, The Boxer fights for the environment by sending less garbage bags and by pre-compacting garbage before it hits the landfill. Ruddock’s story is intriguing as he personally invented and developed the device with the help of a Toronto engineering firm. As a boxer, Ruddock was known for
The Boxer
inventing a new punch known as “The Smash,” which he used with devastating results.

“One day, I realized I was always dragging garbage bags around, and that it was absolutely unnecessary,” says Ruddock. “I drew a sketch, with the help from my wife, of a device that could compress our garbage, and we realized we had a product on our hands. There’s nothing else like it on the market.” Expensive electrical garbage compacters have existed for years, but The Boxer is non- electrical, and at $89.99 it is affordable. The Boxer usesan old boxing trick to apply up to 400 pounds of crushing force.“Leverage,” says Ruddock. “This means The Boxer multiplies your force on the garbage and lets you do a number on your trash.”

Ruddock is launching the device in Toronto before he starts to market The Boxer globally.
