Team Silva speaks: Want fight with Chuck Liddell - UFC
By Media report (Aug 26, 2008) Doghouse Boxing
At UFC 88 this coming September 6th, Chuck Liddell will take on Rashad Evans. The winner of the fight might determine which one will become the top contender to fight for the light-heavyweight title. If Liddell beats Evans, he might have another option on his plate.
Anderson Silva's manager Ed Soares has now gone on record that he'd like to see Silva vs. Liddell in the near future. According to a report first published by the Chicago Sun-Times, Anderson Silva (22-4) will put his title on the line against Patrick Cote (13-4) at UFC 90. The event will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Ill., on October 25 of this year.
Soares quoted on MMA Weekly Radio, states: "We're not looking past Patrick Cote, but I think we'll take one step at a time and see what happens. If a Chuck Liddell fight came up, we'd take it.”
