December 13th, at the No Limits Mixed Martial Arts & Fitness in Irvine, CA, Convicted Artist presents, the first of its kind extreme sports and artists charity event, to benefit the “Life Rolls on Foundation”, a charity that supports and benefits young people with spinal cord injuries to live an active as well as fruitful life.
There will be live music, food & cocktails during the day, and later in the evening, in what has been billed as, the “Battle for Orange County”, top MMA schools around the U.S. will compete in submission wrestling super fights.
The main event features the five time world Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion Givanildo “The Arm Collector” Santana (11-1), who goes head to head against the Lion’s Den Elite team fighter and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Dennis Gomez.
Santana, who totes the nick name “The Arm Collector” has defeated all but one of his fallen foes via submission, and the Brazilian born combatant looks to get back in the win column after losing a razor thin decision to the hands Jaime Jara.
The co main event features the eleven time champion and UFC veteran Joe “Diesel” Riggs (28-10), who will be battling the undefeated KOTC veteran Chad Davis (4-0), in what surely be a hell of throw down.
Riggs, who has competed in the KOTC, RITC, ECS, IFC, Strikeforce and the UFC, has went head to head against the likes of Kendall Grove, Diego Sanchez, Nick Diaz and Matt Hughes, and the “Diesel” aims to steam roll his competition come fight night. All though his opponent, Chad Davis, is not a house hold name, the tough as nails Davis, has his eyes set on using Riggs as a stepping stone to the lime light.
Also in action, Brazilian jiu-jitsu artist Mike Tomacelli, will be taking on (Ralph Gracie Orange County) Bruno Paulista, and there will be many more action packed throw downs on the card as well.
The entire day will be filled with Skateboard competitions featuring well known top skateboarders. Unique musicians, a very funny comedic act, a fabulous silent auction featuring beautiful original art, clothing, surf boards & skate boards, high end cosmetic products & all sorts of first class paraphernalia. Great ideas for Holiday giving, while benefiting young people trying to regroup their lives, after catastrophic misfortunes.
Also on hand for meet and greets will be the UFC Hall of Fame and living fighting legend, Ken Shamrock. The former WBC Intercontinental heavyweight title holder, and the first man to defeat Wladimir Klitschko, Ross Puritty will be on hand for the hands, Puritty, who knows about pain from boxing and playing football, said that being a part of this charity event is very important.
Fighters such as the WBC Mexico heavyweight champion David Rodriguez, KOTC champions, Manny Tapia and Victor Valenzuela and the seven time kicking boxing champion Cliff Thomas will be on hand for the night, as well as the center for the rejuvenated Arizona Cardinals, Scott Peters, as well as many other high profile athletes who will be attending to support and help raise money for young people affected by spinal cord injury.
I myself have been blessed to be invited by Convicted Artist to be the ring announcer for the night’s fighting entertainment, and I would personally like extend an invitation all who would like to come out and have a great time for a great cause.
