Freddie Roach stated that if Oscar De La Hoya does not make 147 pounds, the fight will be off, regardless of the $3 million per pound penalty. Bob Arum countered that there is a one pound grace limit, at the aforementioned price of $3 million.

Pacquiao and De La Hoya each donated $10,000 to the Houston Dynamo’s Hurricane Ike relief fund.

Arum’s long-awaited Macau show will be held January 24.

HBO 24/7 will return for seven episodes this fall, the first three for Roy Jones vs. Joe Calzaghe, and the final four for De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao.

Thousands of closed-circuit seats will be available at all 11 MGM locations, at a price of $60 each.

HBO’s marketing campaign, which will implement internet, print, and television advertising, will be its largest ever for a boxing match.

Cerveza Tecate will be offering a $20 mail-in rebate for use towards the HBO PPV match with purchase of a 12-pack.

Tequila Cazadores will be offering a similar $10 mail-in rebate.
