Oscar De La Hoya speaks on Cuban Defectors now under his guidance

Oscar De La Hoya has snapped up Cuban defector's Yan Barthelemy and Erislandy Lara in co-promotion deals Tuesday with his company Golden Boy Promotions.

Quoted in the media in regards to his newest acquisitions, De La Hoya stated: "It takes special talent to excel for so many years in the Cuban amateur system. I know that Yan and Erislandy will use that experience to soar through their professional careers."

Barthelemy and Lara who defected separately, ( Barthelemy in 2006, Lara this year) both ended up with Arena Box CEO, Ahmet Oner. Oner, together with De La Hoya will now team up to help promote both boxers.
