According to reports, former world champion Scott Harrison still remains banned after being a no-show at a British Boxing Board of Control disciplinary tribunal. Harrison, who at the moment is in Spain, was represented yesterday at the tribunal by his father, Peter. However in Scott's absence the Board refused to grant a lift to his suspension.
Simon Block, general secretary for the British Boxing Board of Control, quoted in the media said: "Despite confirmation of his attendance, received
from the office of his manager Barry Hughes, Harrison failed to appear. If they'd told us he wasn't in the country we would have postponed the hearing.
Block added: "Serious issues are involved. Members of the Board travelled from all over the country in difficult circumstances, considering the bad weather, and they were not best pleased at coming on a wild goose chase."
Scott had been called by the Board after pulling out of a title defence against Nicky Cook that was scheduled for last December. Scott pulled out of that fight on a short notice.
Adding to Scott's problems, he still faces a court case in Spain, involving alleged assault on the police.
